Questionably Executed Seat Adjustment

Seat trimmed

To compensate for the new angle and seating position of this dirt bike with a much lower sportbike front end, the seat also needed to be lowered. Instead of trying to measure and fabricate, or source a custom seat, I just modified the stock XR250L seat to be lower and flatter. I cut the rear end off, cut out most of the cushioning, and reattached the vinyl. It does not look professional. I wish I’d used an electric turkey knife or a sander to get the foam smoother.

Seat chunks

I used a razor to delineate sections of the seat, then just ripped out chunks by hand.

Marked Ripping chunks

I used a good ol’ staple gun to attach the vinyl. Took a bit of stretching, cutting and folding, but I got it on fairly well.
